Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Moment Before ("we," "us," "our"), a digital wedding invitation service. By creating an account, personalizing a template, purchasing, or publishing an invitation, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
The Moment Before lets you personalize an animated digital wedding invitation, preview it in full, and, after payment, publish it to a live shareable link with QR codes and RSVP collection. Personalizing and previewing is free; payment is required only to publish.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase.
3. Payment and refunds
- Publishing an invitation requires a one-time payment ($99 USD / $139 CAD / $139 AUD / £69 GBP / €89 EUR, or as shown at checkout). Prices include all guest versions and unlimited guests for that invitation. There is no subscription.
- All purchases are final sale. As a digital product that you can fully preview before paying, published invitations are not eligible for refunds. If something is broken on our end, contact us within 30 days and we will fix it.
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card details.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the names, dates, photos, audio, and other content you add to your invitation. You grant us a limited licence to host, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the service. You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload, including any music, and that your content is lawful and does not infringe anyone's rights.
5. Our content
The templates, artwork, animations, code, and brand of The Moment Before are our intellectual property. Your purchase grants a licence to use them within your published invitation; it does not transfer ownership, and you may not copy, resell, or redistribute the templates.
6. Guest RSVPs
RSVP responses submitted by your guests are collected on your behalf and shown on your dashboard. You are responsible for using guest information only for your wedding and in line with our Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and duration
Published invitations remain live for at least 12 months from the wedding date shown on the invitation, after which they may be archived. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to send spam, host unlawful or hateful content, impersonate others, attempt to breach security, or interfere with other users. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under applicable consumer protection legislation.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, unless mandatory consumer law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
